Welcome To the Troy Tigers!

Welcome to the official site for the U11 Troy Tigers Baseball Team.  We are going into our 4th season and many of the same families that were with us in 2007 are still with us today.   Our coaches all played competitively and have  over 40 years of baseball coaching experience between them.  The staff has been together since day 1 and our philosophy has always been the same.

We expect the best effort possible from each player and from ourselves, whether it be, a practice, scrimmage, or game.  How a player performs including his display of sportsmanship, teamwork and attitude, in practice and games will help determine his amount of playing time.

This will be our third year playing in the NOBF (North Oakland Baseball Federation).  The NOBF is a very competitive league comprised of teams from Troy, Rochester, Clarkston, Auburn Hills, Lake Orion, Oxford, and Bloomfield Hills.  We have made consistent improvements each season and between league and tournaments game, won over 60% of our games last year.   

The league we play in is very competitive and the players will likely end up playing some fairly defined roles/positions once the season starts.  There will be no defined roles going in, positions and playing time will be earned.  The evaluations will be continuous throughout the season and the batting lineup and positions will be adjusted accordingly.

We believe in making the practices fun, kids are typically quicker to learn if they are having fun.  It also becomes much easier to get them to practice if they are having fun and are looking forward to practice.  The practices are always designed to improve there baseball skills from both a mental and physical aspect.  Safety will always play a key role in how we develop the players and core training is a part of every practice.  In regards to pitching, we adhere to a strict set of rules revolving around pitch counts, not innings pitched for all of our pitchers.
